— Miriam’s ‘Health Guides’
If that sounds ‘too easy’, I affirm from experience with myself and my clients that it is much easier than you may believe! Here are my contributions to each statement in the message from the ‘Health Guides’.
The well-being of your mind and brain is is determined by your daily choices.
Every moment of your life is an opportunity to heal, balance, and renew. Your thoughts and feelings can trigger negativity and stress, or they can result in peace and joy. Conditioned beliefs and thoughts that trap emotions within you, not allowing their expression, disrupt the proper energy flow of the body. Uncomfortable emotions can teach you what feels wrong in your environment so you can address and correct the discord around you or within you. Enjoyable emotions teach you what it is like to be in your natural state, a being of light in a miraculous body. The more aware you can be of your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions, the easier you can shift your focus of attention to bring about mental and emotional well-being.
Accept your past for what it was; forgive others and yourself to release inner conflicts.
The past holds family and societal programs, challenging experiences, and poor choices that can rule your life, for years or decades. It doesn’t have to! Understand that you are the creator of your current and future life, so start by accepting your past. Locate old shame, guilt, blame, rage, and conflicts stored within you, on your own or with the help of someone like myself. Express the emotions your inner children were not able to do, in a healthy manner, so the issues can be resolved and released from your body and mind. Free yourself from the ‘prisons’ that have constrained you, and move into the present through acceptance and forgiveness.
Let go of old mental habits that limit you, and create a positive attitude in life.
It is common to learn to see the world through the eyes of some adult figure in your early life. Are those old perspectives and mental habits beneficial for you now? Has your attitude in life been influenced negatively by someone in your current household or friend group? Do you typically ‘go low’ or ‘go high’? Do you complain, or do you move ahead? The idiom of a glass filled halfway with water can apply here: do you see it as half empty or half full? Take a closer look at your reactions to what happens in your life, and consider how you could respond in a new way to the same stimuli. Explore being patient, upbeat, courageous, compassionate, or calm. Smile more, to activate the proper hormones and neurotransmitters in your brain. Laugh more, even laughing gently at yourself when you see you have fallen back into old habits. Focus on the positive within you and around you, and that will attract more of the same to you.
Witness what is within you and around you, and choose to be loving.
A valuable practice is to step back from the confusion of strong emotions felt and expressed by people in your life and in the current society. Cultivate and maintain a center of harmony and peace within your mind and body so that you are balanced, and less affected by the emotional storms of others. Become the witness: observant, aware, alert, unafraid, present, and capable of responding instead of reacting. See and understand the causes for others’ distress, without getting caught up in their stories. Find and expand the compassion and love within your heart and soul, and breathe that through your being and out to others.
Invite inspiration to provide solutions, and better options for your future.
You have access to the consciousness that permeates the natural world, on Earth and in the Heavens. It is from this source of knowing that all great insights, ideas, and inventions of humans are birthed. If you are in need of answers or have unsolved problems, connect with this awareness and ask for input while you sleep, dream, or rest. Allow your mind to relax and receive, trusting that there are many more solutions available than your thinking brain can formulate. When new ideas come to you, feel the excitement of inspiration, and sense which possibilities are a resonant match for you. You can also invite inspiration to show you images of yourself in a better future, feeling more vibrant, happier, and even thriving. Allow these seeds of inspiration to grow in the garden of your mind and body, and tend to them with care.
Your inner freedom and empowerment grow when you practice clarity.
As you nurture your mental and emotional body, and learn to accept, forgive and resolve past conflicts, you can become fully present in your body. When you are truly present, you are able to respond appropriately to the people and circumstances in your life. Your confidence and attitude improve, your best choices are easier to discern, and your actions have more impact. It is a pleasure to live with clarity in a healthy body with a balanced mind and brain. Imagine the sense of freedom and empowerment that these practices can bring to your life, and enact them as often as you can!
